Charles Clyde Squires studied with Howard Pyle, F W DuMond, Robert Henri. First illustration bought by Life when Squires was 23. Other illustrations for romance and western pulps (including Argosy covers), St. Nicholas, The Elks, postcards, and calendars. A series of lush, colorful ads for Pompeian Night Cream are stand outs.
